Q: What is Cavan on Ice?
A: Cavan on Ice is a Christmas event, consisting of festive fun and entertainment for all ages. The venue hosts Ireland's only Christmas indoor ice rink and Santa’s grotto which is open every Day from the 5th December 2008 till the 11th January 2009
Q: Where is the event taking place?
A: In Cavan Retail Park Opposite the Cavan Crystal Hotel.
Q: How do I get there and where do I park?
A: Access is from the main Dublin Road. Car parking is available at the venue in the
Car Park and there is an overflow car park too.
Remember Skaters we already ask you to arrive 20 mins before your session time andif you are driving allow some extra time for parking (Additional 15 minutes). Car Parking spaces are limited
Q: When will the ice rink be open and at what times?
A: For a full list of Session times please see opening times
Q: What is the age for an adult ticket?
A: Adult ticket rates apply to all individuals over 15 years of age.
Q: Are there student discounts available?
A: Yes there are but only during off peak hours and between the 5th December & 19th December 2008.
Q: Do Children under 1 have to pay?
A: No
Q: Can I go along and pay on the day?
A: A limited number of tickets will be on sale at the Door. However, these tickets are sold on a first come first served basis and we cannot guarantee availability. Therefore, we recommend advance bookings to avoid disappointment.
Q: How long do skating sessions last?
A: Each skate session is 60min.
Q: What if I only want to accompany my child who is skating?
A: A Parent or Guardian who wishes to enter the venue and not skate may enter the grounds free of charge.
Q: How can group bookings of 25+ be made?
A: Group bookings can be made by calling the booking line
Q: Can booked sessions be changed?
A: No, it is not possible to transfer sessions once they are booked.
Q: Are deposits refundable?
A: Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations will lose their deposit. This policy is in
place, as it must be appreciated that labour and entertainment must be booked for and paid for in advance.
Q: What happens if sessions are cancelled?
A: If any sessions are cancelled, ticket-holders will be accommodated at alternative sessions.
Q: What about visitors with special needs?
A: Wheelchair access is available on-site and staff are available for a helping hand.
Q: I haven't skated before - What if I fall?
A: The Ice rink will have a certain number of Skate aids who will be available to help you find your feet. Ice Marshals also patrol the ice to help people to their feet. In the event of an accident first-aid facilities are on-site.
Q: What about toilet facilities?
A: Serviced toilets will be located on-site.
Q: Will there be a cloakroom on site?
A: Yes. There will be a manned cloakroom on-site with a cost of €2.00 per item
Q: Are there any clothing restrictions?
A: Gloves are highly recommended and an extra pair of socks for skaters is also a good idea!
Q: Do you have insurance?
A: The rink operators have public liability insurance, in the event of an injury occurring as a result
of faulty operations. However, it is important to note that the use of the ice skating
rink and all its facilities are totally at the users own risk. No responsibility is accepted or undertaken for the well being of either the user or their property.
